Week of April 9th

Back after a long hiatus ...

Field Trip: we will be visiting the Arboretum on Tuesday morning, 4/10.  Please send in the signed permission slip if you have not yet done so.  It would be awesome if 2-3 parents join us.  Please let me know if you are interested!

Language Arts: this week we will work on long e  spelled -ee and -e (me, be, we).  This week's genre is Expository text, which tells facts about real people, places, or animals.  We will then compare and contrast different communities

Social Studies: we will be wrapping up our study on inventors and inventions

PYP:  we have been having loads of fun while learning about how matter changes our world.  We have worked on both physical and chemical changes; last week the kids combined a couple of liquids with a couple of solids and created a new solid: playdough.  They also created a gas by combining a solid and a liquid, and 'blew' up a balloon in the process!
