Week of September 5th

Wow, we made it through the first week with homework and capped it off with a Spelling Test!

Please make sure your child returns the homework on Fridays, most everyone did this first week = Great Job!

Language Arts: we will work on short e sound and high frequency words.  The Spelling list, from now on, will consist of 15 words: 10 words that follow the rule for the week and 5 HFWs.  We will have regular Spelling tests on Friday mornings.

Math: we will work on comparing and ordering numbers

Social Studies: we will focus on leaders and rules.

PYP: We will continue working on Who We Are and reviewing the PYP profile and attitudes.

Jeffrey and Toby model to the class how to work at the Library Workstation.
The kids FINALLY got to go on the Spider!!!!  For safety reasons, first grade gets to go on the Spider on days that the class' ancillary is Spanish.
We went on a Listening Walk and tracked the different sounds we heard, many which we don't notice when we walk down the hallways making noises ourselves!
"I heard Ms. Fromen's flip-flops making noise!"
Sharing Journal!  It's amazing how much more the kids are writing in just one week :)
